rasauto.exe problems
rasauto.exe problems
I found my dialup connection suddenly broken and a dialup connection dialog box enabled. The task manager showed that "rasauto.exe" was active.

rasauto.exe is a microsoft program located in C:/windows/system32. It cannot be deleted.

This program is a component of "autodial" which should be turned off. So how did it get turned on? Viruses or spyware turned it on.

I scanned my drive for spyware (Spybot), found and deleted several spyware agents.

I searched for "enableautodial" in my registry and found roughly 10 entries, about half were in the enable (1) mode. I converted these to the "inactive" (0) mode by changing "01 00 00 00" to "00 00 00 00"
