I'm disappointed in metacognition videos that I've watched. They emphasize the effect of metacognition on behavior. My emphasis would be on understanding. Do I understand what I've read or heard? If not, why not? Are there words or phrases that confuse me? Do I understand in the same way as the author or speaker? If my understanding is poor what must I do to improve it? How does this information fit into a larger context? If I can't relate it to a larger context it's a metacognitive failure.
