Google redirects are a major nuisance. Part of the annoyance is interference with searching for solutions. Keep in mind you can partially circumvent the problem by cutting and pasting URLs from a Google search. Unfortunately longer URLs (containing ......) can't be cut and pasted. The redirect is easily eliminated with Kapersky's TDSSkiller (free). I've successfully removed the rootkit on two occasions.
