Vanden Berg's list
Vanden Berg's list
Les;
I don't know if this is helpful, but here's the list from the talk 2 years ago by UNL economist Hank Vanden Berg.

We can't and shouldn't return to "normal" because normal (2007 data) consisted of these 13 unsustainable problems/crises:
1. Trade deficit of 6% of GDP
2. Savings rate 0 %
3. Wages flat for 40 years
4. Profits up 7%
5. Military 7% of GDP
6. Education flat
7. Health costs tripled to 16% of GDP
8. Medicare liability $50 trillion (Social Security OK)
9. Depletion of natural resources
10. The "climate-change energy-system"
11. We incarcerate 1% of our workforce, costing 2% of GDP
12. Budget deficits
13. Infrastructure deficits
