Replace antenna - 2007 Ford Focus
The screw to the antenna is an integral part of the antenna base. When the antenna breaks off the base therefore must be replaced. The base is held in place with a T24 torx screw. The screw is accessible only by removing the ceiling console beneath it. The console is held in place by 5 Phillips screws. The two forward screws are accessible only after prying out the light panel with a screwdiriver. New bases can be purchased on Ebay.
The antenna base is badly designed. The screw portion is molded (sintered?) aluminum and sticks out so that it breaks off easily. A good solution is to drill out the screw portion and attach the replacement antenna with a double threaded screw (comes with the replacement antenna.)
