 Gentlemen:

I would like to register a formal complaint against MCI long distance services on behalf of my 85 year old mother. The attached letter describes my complaint and suggested remedy. I would like support in setting matters straight. You might also remind MCI that the cost of good will in this case would have been less than the cost of remedying bad will and much less than the cost of bad will.

I regret involving you in such a trivial matter, but I assure you that due to my mother's age this problem looms larger than it would for you or me.
